By default, posts are targeted to “All Users,” meaning the content you publish will be seen by everyone. You can target a post to a specific audience by creating segments, and then when you’re publishing, you’ll see an option to publish to a segment so only that audience will see it.
Segments Dashboard
You can create, edit, or delete a segment from the Segments Dashboard. To access, click on “Segments” from the Navigation panel. The Segments Dashboard lists the name of existing segments and the number of posts (live or scheduled) that are targeted to that segment.

Create a New Segment
To create a New Segment, click on the “+ Add New Segment” button from the Segments dashboard. This will navigate you to the Segment Builder where you can set up the segment.

Edit a Segment
To edit an existing segment, click on the name of the segment or the edit icon. This will navigate you to the Segment Builder page where you can make changes.

Delete a Segment
To delete a single segment, click on the delete icon.
To bulk delete multiple segments, check the checkbox next to each segment in the list and click on the “Delete Selected” button that appears.

Segment Builder
The Segment Builder is where you can create a new segment or edit an existing segment by selecting user properties and applying conditional logic.
User Property
You can classify your audience into a segment by choosing user properties.
There are three groups of user properties you can use to create a segment:
Device
You may segment by attributes of a user’s device such as:
- OS Name (Android / iOS)
- OS Version
- App Version
- Model Name
Here’s how to target to a device attribute:
1. Click on “Device” under “User Property” 2. Choose an attribute from the dropdown that appears 3. Choose “Is” or “Is Not” from the dropdown 4. Choose the “Value” from dropdown
Profile
You may segment by attributes of a user’s profile as gathered by the app. Some common examples are Gender, Style, and Member Status. You can even target a specific Customer ID. These profile attributes are dependent on your CRM and app- side implementation.
Previous Segments
When creating a new segment, you may also segment by using one or more previously created segments and combine previous segments with profile attributes or device settings.
Conditional Logic
Applying conditional AND-OR logic allows you to create more sophisticated segments and publish more targeted posts by adding conditions. A segment can use any number of combinations of AND-OR.
Using AND Logic
AND means both user properties must be true for the user to be included in the segment. Click on the “AND” button to add an “And” rule.
If you need to delete an "And" rule, you can click on the trash icon.
Using OR Logic
OR means only one user property needs to be true for the user to be included in the segment. Click on “Add ‘OR’ Rule” to add an “Or” rule which means only one needs to be true.
If you need to delete an "Or" rule, you can click on the trash icon.
Save
Be sure to name the segment you’ve built by entering a meaning name within the “New Segment” text field. Click “Save” when you’re done. Your newly created segment should appear in the Segments Dashboard.
Deleting Segments
As you work with segments you will likely find old rules that are no longer useful. The ability to delete a segment gives you the ability to keep your list of available segments clean and focused on what is useful.
Conditions to Delete Segments
A post cannot be deleted if it is used by a currently live post, a scheduled post, or is a dependent for a different segment. If any of those conditions are true then the posts or the other segment must be updated before the segment can be deleted. The details for each of these conditions are listed at the bottom of the Segment Builder screen under Dependent Segments, Live Posts, and Scheduled Posts.
Deleting a Segment
At the top right of the Segment Builder page are the Cancel and Save buttons. Just to the left of those two buttons is the Delete button. If it is grayed out then see the Conditions To Delete Segments section above. If the button is red then you can delete that segment. Once deleted there is no way to bring a segment back to life so delete thoughtfully.
